January 10, 20197 yr I've noticed a "bug" -if you will- that has existed in every version of FSX and P3D during wind gust conditions. (and have observed this on the wind displayed using SHIFT+Z). The wind speed doesn't experience a smooth "ramp up" to the top gust speed- it "ticks" suddenly to the high wind speed, then back down to the normal speed. It does this in regular fashion, not replicating a natural randomness of gusty winds/frequency of gusts. Is there anything I can do in my p3D.cfg- or in the activesky user interface, to smooth these changes? During real flying (even in the 757), I definitely feel wind changes a bit- especially in gusty conditions. Of course you can't replicate "feel" in the sim- but a sudden (even slower) ramp-up to the top gust speed would be extremely helpful in anticipating needed power/pitch changes.
