During a flight just a few minutes ago with heavy clouds the HUD text would fade in and out like it was on the outside of the plane.  I've never seen this. 

 

It always happens to me when I fly through some clouds too, annoying but what can we do?

There is a setting in Active sky in the clouds section, I don‘t know its name right now... it might be the wing fade effect. Turn it off. The hud is actually simulated outside of your airplane and this effect hides it.
