January 25, 20197 yr Hi. Anyone got any ideas or pictures how I could make a collective lever to start to learn how fly helicopters? I've got a joystick and saitek rudder pedals. I saw a guy a Cosford flying a helicopter with a simple joystick, rudder pedals and a length of drain pipe, but I didn't see what the drain pipe was controlling or what bit of kit it was connected too. January 26, 20197 yr I made one out of pvc tubing, a steering damper, a linear pot, and an old joystick. There is no twist grip throttle, but, the collective effect is very good. I have been using it for several years and have well over 1000 flight hours on it. Cost was less than $100. Danny Danny
