Add Aircraft To Demo

Featured Replies

You can add old fs2004 aircraft into the demo and use them!!!The virtual cockpit effects work in them also!

Yes you can, but so far I haven't had very good luck. The first one I tried gave me warning after warning about the gauges. Some didn't load. Then I tried the Overland A320, which is fairly new. I'm getting a little worried.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/153738.jpg

Here's one I added:http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v429/alp...15-49-52-78.jpgIt's the Alphasim F3H demon. It works nearly perfectly. Only one of the guages (and only in the VC) doesn't work. It also keeps yelling "don't sink!" at me when I dive at the ground haha. Not sure how to stop it from doing that.

Gauges designed for FS98 (or maybe designed using FS98 tools) are not supported in FSX, but even relatively recent aircraft may still be using them. Going to be a lot of people doing panel work and trying to make/find gauges when FSX comes out. FSDSv1 models (like Mikko's planes) also apparently won't work at all. Not really a big surprise there. But FSDSv2 and up should work."Let me help you out. You're cleared to taxi any way you can to any runway you see."

What are you worried about? This happens with every new version of FS. Products/add-ons will be updated

My F3H seems to gulp fuel in FSX at an alarming rate. Why is this?

I'm not worried, just noting what I've found that works and what doesn't work. The gauge change will be a big deal though since there are still a ton of those gauges out there, and XML gauges are relatively scarce in my experience. The FS98 gauge format has been in use for a long time, so it'll be a big step.So in order to use freeware aircraft with FSX, we may all end up using a lot of default gauges for a while till gauge developers catch up. Not to mention doing a bunch of panel editing, which not everyone knows how to do. (Though FS9 stock gauges in .gau files seem to work so some .gau gauges will work.)"Let me help you out. You're cleared to taxi any way you can to any runway you see."

I tried the LVLD 767 and can get the plane to work but keep getting a Panel Initialization error. I had installed the LVLD gauges and still get the error. I stripped the panel.cfg of everything and can get the plane to load without any panel. Has anyone else got the LVLD panel to work? Regards, Bob.

Don't have that plane so can't tell for sure what might be happening, but maybe that panel (or gauges on it) require FSUIPC or some custom module to be installed?"Let me help you out. You're cleared to taxi any way you can to any runway you see."

Hi. Thanks. That could be the case. I hope that if FSUIPC will be needed in FSX that it will be upgraded. I did get the GREAT ATC Gauge of the late Bill Morad to work in FSX. Saves using the kb to contact ATC. Best regards, Bob.

Heh. I use my joystick. 2 hat switches + 3 buttons = 0-9 and ~ in joystick mode 3 (aka landing/takeoff/taxi mode) :)"Let me help you out. You're cleared to taxi any way you can to any runway you see."

>(Though FS9 stock>gauges in .gau files seem to work so some .gau gauges will>work.)Actually most all gauges coded since FS2k will work. Only those really old gauges compled with the old FS98 header will not.

That's what I was hoping, but of the gauges I've looked at I kept comming up with FS98 gauges. Of course, it's possible a gauge might not work right. (I know of at least one XML gauge for FS2002 that doesn't seem to work right in FS9.)"Let me help you out. You're cleared to taxi any way you can to any runway you see."
