The AVSIM CTD Guide, page 10 has a way to investigate the cause.  You rename the p3d, dll.xml, and scenery.cfg.  You also go to Documents/Prepar3Dv4 Addons.  Move everything in the folder to a temporary folder.  Now, restart P3D and see if this fixes the problem.

The dll.xml is the file that loads at startup.  If anything is wrong with this file, your sim will crash or freeze.

If no crash, then I would return the scenery.cfg and move those files back to Documents/Prepar3D v4 Addons folder.

Restart P3D and make sure there are no crashes.

Then rename your dll.xml back to the original, restart P3D and see if the sim crashes.  If it does, then you have a module added by an addon developer that is not working properly.  The guide shows you how to disable each module one by one until you find the module that was causing the crash.
Hope this helps.

Best regards,

Jim
