February 9, 20197 yr My next build will be an i7-9700K + 1080Ti and I need enough space for Win10, DCS2.5, BMS4.33, Xplane11. Will stick with SATA SSDs until NvMe prices come down. Options: # 2x 500GB Samsung 860 Evo £75 + £75 # 2x 500GB Crucial MX500 £58 + £58 # 250GB Crucial MX500 + 1TB Crucial MX500 £43 + £113 # 1TB Crucial MX500 £113 Q1) Which is the best SSD config, OS + Sims or all on one? Q2) Is the 860 Evo going to be practically any faster than the MX500 on the SATA3 bus? February 10, 20197 yr I've recently changed from a 500gb 860 Evo to a 1Tb MX500 and noticed no difference P3D v4.5 MSFS2020 Hisense 50" 4K TV Ryzen 9600x 64gb DDR5 6000mhz, Asrock B650m HDV/M.2 Gigabyte 16gb 9070XT, Thermalright Aqua Elite 240mm 2TB NVMe Boot/FS2020 Drive, 2TB NVMe P3D Drive. February 10, 20197 yr No need for multiple drives. All on one drive is fine. 1 Tb 860 Evo £145. 860 Evo is slightly faster than the MX500, but if you are on a budget I wouldn't be too concerned. Doubt you would notice the difference. https://ssd.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Samsung-860-Evo-250GB-vs-Crucial-MX500-250GB/3949vs3951 Edited February 10, 20197 yr by martin-w
