Gamespot FSX Payware Demo

Featured Replies

Microsoft selling viewing rights through a commercial website for its FSX demonstration video seems to be "dumb". Why would a multi-billion dollar company force its potential customers to pay to view a promotional video? Sounds like some low level manager may have made a big mistake!Dick near 5G8

What are you talking about? You can download it for free. Albiet slowly. Just give it a little while for other places to pick it up.

Another one...you DONT have to pay. you can get a FREE account.

Hi,You can also download it for free from the same web site. When will people read that the cost is to hook into their high-speed servers?Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

The video is utterly free, you don't have to be as subscriber to view it. The demo is free, you are paying for high speed servers. Ian.

Quite frankly Microsoft's "multi-billion dollar company" does not have the download server infrastructure to support a download like this. They could spend a lot of money building it - and charge for the demo, or raise the price of the final product. The companies who specialize in this service do - that's what you are paying for their specialized equipment to make fast downloads.Yes, it does sug because free downloads will be slow. But the demand for this download will be so high that it could easily cause major problems at the free sites like Avsim. This thing is 636MB in size.

Unless they released it in bittorrent. Then we'd all share it and the bandwidth would increase with more people. That is one of the many reasons I hate download companies. They no longer need to exist.

Mine shows as 651.5MB ( at 553M now, can't wait! :( )

>Mine shows as 651.5MB ( at 553M now, can't wait! :( )How the #$ did you get it that fast? I paid the stupid $6 and I'm getting 80 kb/s. I'll be unscribing from these folks as soon as I'm done downloading. I know it's a popular file, but fileplanet gives fast speeds on release even for popular files.
