February 13, 20197 yr Hello guys, Its been awhile since i've Played Around with FSX, When i last used it my Hardware in my computer was not that great so i used to really mess with the FSX Config Quiet i bit, With Job Scheduler. All that good stuff. Well im downloading it now. I just recently upgraded to a i7 9700k, z390 series motherboard 16gb of ram. Is there any reason to mess with FSX config. Im Just Looking for advice thanks! Im also thinking i should be able to run FSX on Ultra? Im Looking for what settings to run. Looking for a pure Smooth FSX Expierence. Should i just crank them up? From my understanding some Settings run better when turned off Edited February 13, 20197 yr by Bonanza90
February 13, 20197 yr A video card would take a bit of load off your integrated GPU... do you use one? No, you won't need to edit any config file with Steam Edition. Dovetail did all the heavy lifting for you. Yes you should be able to run FSX:SE smoothly in high settings. I suggest to start with turning down AI traffic. Airport vehicles - minimal - you will still see plenty of them. Airline - I use 35%. More than that and sometimes identical planes spawn next to each other. Immersion killer. GA - I use 70%. Same reason as above. It was at 75% the other day, so I am still turning those two down by 5% each time I see twin airplanes next to each other. Road vehicles - 10% (I use 25% with UTX set to highway traffic only). Ships/ferries - 100% (I dig those scheduled ferries and cruise ships). Leisure boats - 40% (any lower and boats will almost never appear). Consider changing label displays to 5 seconds if you use them. If you don't mind the bare default landscape, consider turning down autogen scenery to minimum if you aren't happy with your performance. I recently changed to Maximum since my performance has improved since I turned down traffic. I also turn off all sun effects and all shadows except for my aircraft's on the ground. Finally my personal preference for water is Mid 1.x rather than Maximum. I just like the former's look better, others may prefer maximized water but it is known to affect performance. Now I never drop below 25 FPS, even in big city airports, with an i7 4790K and GTX 970. I hope your result will be even better. Enjoy! For Filtering, Do you suggest Anti- Alisasing on. And Which filter? My pleasure. YES TURN ANTI-ALIASING ON!!! It will make the sim look so much better. Use the highest setting - anisotropic filtering. Your 1070 will handle it very easily!
