August 7, 200619 yr will FSX have lighting like this at its airports?http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?act=At...e=post&id=19940:( I7-10700F RTX 3070 32 Gig Ram
August 7, 200619 yr If it did it wouldn't last long the way I taxi an aircraft. Would cost me a small fortune in replacement globes.Aybehttp://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannerbeta.jpg Andy Brockbank
August 7, 200619 yr I think that MS team should spent their time improving lighting systems at parking airport, for example, As designer I have to create a bitmap to simulate light brightness in the ground if I want watch something at the night, furthermore this is poor solution because many objects (like cars, containers) appears to be black due that isn't a truly lighting system. Also, many addons have great simulated-lighting system but all of them cannot light your plane if it's under a lamp.MS team has done great improvements in day visuals along last years but you should pay attention in night visual effects for FSX . Anyway I very pleased how MS Team has been involved with the community.RegardsPablo
August 7, 200619 yr That looks like the fake bitmap lights in fs9 :-roll I hope the dx10 lights look alot better and if possible have real light sources for every light in the game :-hah I don't know how hard that is to program.
August 7, 200619 yr It's possible create a new lighting system because we have more advanced GPU's than before when MS Team was working on FS9. In past I suppose that real lights weren't implemented because there isn't enough power in GPU's. RegardsPablo
August 7, 200619 yr Didn't 'tdragger' already say point lighting wasn't going to be in the version? So you won't be seeing lights on mountains or anything like that ;)
August 8, 200619 yr I'm also really concerned about night environment lighting. And I really wish this has been addressed in FSX, because I believe that dark airports at night has a very negative effect on overall environment realism. And we all know that bitmaps-as-lights don't work anymore!I think this particular issue should have top-priority in terms of environmental handling in FSX.
August 8, 200619 yr Author >No such comment like that was made specifically regarding the>dx10 version.I'm pretty sure the statements included the DX10 version. Unless they are going to redevelop the whole lighting system I doubt it. DX10 version is going to be a refined DX9 version. Chris Miller
August 8, 200619 yr A dynamic day-night cycle (like crysys engine) won't be available in FSX but it doesn't mean that MS team couldn't use point lighting for platforms because it's the best way to ensure that the 24000 airports won't be black at night! TDragger said that they're working on night enviroment so I hope that they would be concerned about this problem!Anyway, A opinion of a developer will be welcome!! :)RegardsPablo
