March 7, 20197 yr Pilot2ATC v 2.5.0.7x64 I am trialing this for the first time in X Plane 11. Fairly new to flight simming. I wish to use Pilot2ATC without microphone, using the SayIt function. I can load the program successfully and connect it to X Plane (green lights and program states that it is connected to the X Plane flight. Flight planning also seems OK), but I cannot get the SayIt function to work. When I bring up the Speech Assistant to make contact with the program, it is blank with no phrases to select. It should be OK because when I bring up the P2A Config. (Voices) section and press the "Press to test controller frequency and voice" button, the appropriate phrases and voices are available. Does anyone have any advice?. It feels that I am missing something obvious. Nothing too technical please.
March 7, 20197 yr Hello IBTC, in order to get some phrases to select you need to dial in a valid controller frequency. For example, if you want to copy IFR clearance you need to dial in the respective clearance frequency of the airport your currently at. (if no clearance frequency is available, tune in ground or tower). Then you are able to select the phrase you need to say to make your initial contact.
March 7, 20197 yr Commercial Member In addition to Rob's advice, you must have a microphone of some sort attached in order to even connect to the SIM. If you're not getting an error message about the lack of an audio device when connecting, then you must have something that is being seen as a microphone. Dave
March 8, 20197 yr Author Thanks Rob and Dave. I will follow your suggestions, but it looks as if I will have to follow the microphone route.
