3rd Party aircraft in FS X ??

Featured Replies

Thanks. I've read that. Hopefully AVSIM could revise their review to avoid confusion. Not everybody checks out the FS X forum or reads the ACES blogs.

I know that the purple Bell 206 you see in videos either is, or is strongly based upon, a repaint that was done a while back. However I've read nothing from ACES team members about entire aircraft from 3rd parties.Scott / Vorlin

Tsk, tsk... considering your former occupation before giving up your life for Gmax, C gauges and FS9, I thought you'd be less quick to jump buddy! Then again, I was told that you're "cantankerous", remember? hehehI said that *I've* read nothing... and I haven't cruised his blog in some time. Lately I've been up to my eyeballs in the DX SDK, VC#, DotNET and trying to write a Python based DX exporter for Blender that will work smoothly with makeMDL (it's amazing how the DX viewer has no problems with the current exporter but makeMDL blows a gasket when it comes to anims).Yes, yes, you're a Gmax man, I know. But the fact is that Gmax wasn't meant to do the sort of things that we're getting into with FSX and it's better to start lining up a good alternative sooner than later because the transition will be anything but quick and smooth.Never did get TS to connect. Come on over to the HC server and say hi sometime! Also, take a peek at the new MD500E that Panther and I did... hobbyists and pilots alike are giving great reviews but I'd really like to hear some honest critiques from other dev's.Scott / Vorlin

>Then again, I was told that you're "cantankerous", remember?>hehehThe proper term is "curmudgeonly." Please remember that. ;)>(it's amazing how the DX viewer has no problems with the>current exporter but makeMDL blows a gasket when it comes to>anims).See my comments in the proper venue. ;)>Never did get TS to connect. Come on over to the HC server and>say hi sometime!Ah, TS. I had to take the server down 'cause I never could get the ports opened properly to get past my hardware firewall. It worked erratically, meaning sometimes it would work, but mostly it wouldn't... :-roll> Also, take a peek at the new MD500E that>Panther and I did... hobbyists and pilots alike are giving>great reviews but I'd really like to hear some honest>critiques from other dev's.Funny you should bring that up, as I'm fixing to install it in a few moments to take a looksee. I'll post my observations in the other venue as well.

When MS was doing all of the user surveys they had a question asking what aircraft you would like included in the next version. I replied "none...let users download freeware and payware aircraft"...maybe the listened.Mark.
