April 2, 20197 yr I have a small question about the procedure turns 45°/180° , when we start timer(cat A/B 1 min, C/D/E 1 min 15 s.): at the time of the lapel on course 45 or after leveling( after roll-out) on this course? Edited April 2, 20197 yr by niksan29
December 28, 20196 yr Generally timing begins when you cross the fix that marks the turn for a reversal or entry. With a course reversal such as a 45/180 the most important factor is not exceeding charted distance from the/a fix, irrespective of leg time, as charted on the plan view of the approach plate. With a hold style reversal or procedure turn, you time the legs as you do in a hold, when you're wings level established on the outbound leg of the hold. On the inbound leg your turn is dictated by the fix so no timing. This also all assumes standard rate turns. 5800X3D | Radeon RX 6900XT
