You know what else? That 2D shot looks like it was on one of those 16by9 or 16by10 widescreen displays and the gauges look perfectly circular! :-jumpy

Nice looking panel, almost payware ;).Wonder if that's a 30inch or the 24.

~ It is the Lear 2D panel.~ It has been redone for FSX.~ It is running on a wide screen display.~ The gauges on that display are not round.

>~ It is the Lear 2D panel.>~ It has been redone for FSX.>~ It is running on a wide screen display.>~ The gauges on that display are not round. >They're not? I guess you would know, but the three backup gauges to the right as well as the one on the bottom left look perfectly round from the angle the pic was taken.

>I guess you would know, but the three backup gauges to >the right as well as the one on the bottom left look>perfectly round from the angle the pic was taken.Exactly - the angle is what's confusing you :) The gauges are horizontally oval but since the photo was taken from an off-angle the perspective squashes them into something more resembling a circle: http://www.puonti.net/stuff/oval.jpg I've put red squares around the round gauges to show you how much off each gauge is. In fact, you can see that the bottom left gauges are horizontally oval EVEN from this angle.

That makes sense. Thanks for the in-depth explanation. I guess I was a little pre-mature with my '2D panels now support widescreen' excitement. Oh well. It was a glorious 45 mins. LOLEdited for spelling.

The panel looks great so far, from what I can see.Have a look at that MFD. Also the PFD. Seems like nicely redone. Now I hope those gauges are going to be somewhat smoother than in previous versions. :)

That Lear45 panel looks GREAT. I am an avid Lear 45 flyer (practically all I fly in FS) and I really like the looks of this panel. I hope they have a GPS, and Traffic Avoidance screen, and weather radar that can ulternate with the engine gauges crt. That would be cool.Matthew

Great to see a panel at last. Let's see some more.Nice to see some shadow under the glareshield, and the radio stack looks terrific too.Now just a decent sound to go with it and the Learjet will be flyable. I loved the old Learjet, but the sound was atrocious.I hope they never get rid of the 2D panel.Mike.

I wish there was any easy way to demo the new sound tech. Our audio director (David) and sound developer (Rafael) have done some amazing work. You'll be blown away. Problem is that it really takes a demo on a 5.1 system to illustrate the huge difference.

A preview video with a 5.1 soundtrack would do the trick :(BTW any word on that hi resolution copy of the trailer yet?

It should be through the latest version of Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro... I believe both programs have 5.1 encoding and mixing in them...

The video is made up of very fast cuts. In order to really appreciate David and Rafael's work you have to be immersed in the sim and listen to what's happening for more than a few seconds.

Hi Mike,I'm not a RW pilot, but I'll find any excuse to fly interstate, and there's nothing like the roar of a jet barrelling down the runway before takeoff. Then it gets quite again as the AC approaches the speed limit below 10000 ft. It's probably better for the pax than for the pilot anyway, since they're so far forward. It's the best feeling in the world. No wonder FS is so popular.I'm sure even a half decent sound system can capture this experience.Mike.
