First off you need Oculus tray tools and set it to start Oculus home.

 

1. set windows sound output to rift headphones

2. start Oculus home

3. start xp11 and start flight

4. when flight has loaded start Oculus tray tools (which will restart Oculus home)

5. change to x-plane VR mode.

I don't know why but frames (for me at least) are smooth at any frame rate above 22 !!!
