Probe and Drogue Refuelling Hose.

Recommended Posts

Hi

Can someone please tell me what the diameter of the refuelling Hose is on the Probe and Drogue Refuelling system used on RAF Aircraft such as the Voyager KC2.

Also if possible the Voyager KC3 with the Fuselage Refuelling Unit.

Thank you for reading this request.

Hi Corrie,

The KC2 is typically fitted with 2 Cobham 905E refueling pods, the specs for that are:

(900E Series Pod)
Flow Rate: Up to 450gpm
Weight: Circa 1350lbs (612kg) dry
Hose Length: Up to 90ft (27.5m) of 2.2in (5.6cm) bore diameter hose
Delivery Pressure: Operator selectable up to 50psi

I would expect the Cobham 805E refueling pod on the KC3 to have similar hose diameter specs to the above.

Cheers,

Jerome

Thanks a lot Jerome

I had previously thought the diameter was around 4 inches and then realized the fuel in the hose would has been far too heavy.

Many Thanks

Corrie
