  1. That's what she said! Cheers, Jerome Zimmermann
  2. British Airways also have 20 Embraer E190 based at LCY. Cheers, Jerome
  3. Hi Bruce, A developer called Vita Zenisek has produced a plugin for X-Plane that allows you to slew your aircraft: http://goo.gl/O0xiYY It was originally developed for the Czech Virtual Air Rescue service to assist in mission building, maybe you'll find it useful. Cheers, Jerome
  4. With a new front moving in tonight, there should be some challenging weather at EDDF again in the morning. Cheers, Jerome
  5. Fantastic set of shorts there Grady, thumbs up for that livery too. Cheers, Jerome
  6. Hi Jon, Back in 2011 I flew from PADU (Dutch Habor, Alaska) to ENVA (Trondheim, Norway) with the PMDG 737, see my post below from that flight. Cheers, Jerome
  7. I wish I could have attended, here is a video from the Flightsimcon 2016 X-Plane presentation: The bad cloud depiction and terrible performance in clouds are key areas that need improvement. Cheers, Jerome
  8. Hi Bob, People used to say the same thing about X-Plane, and maybe still do. I think far more concerning is the fact that certain developers have been porting their scenery over to P3Dv3 without meeting the SDK guidelines and requirements, which obviously saved them some extra work in the short term, yet they have been selling their products as being fully P3Dv3 compatible when they obviously aren't. Had those developers not taken shortcuts, then these issues wouldn't now be here to bite both them and their customer base. Cheers, Jerome
  9. Thanks Patrick. More thunderstorms predicted for the next few days in Germany, there's nothing like a challenging crosswind approach in a looming storm front. Cheers, Jerome
  10. I really like the very first shot, beautiful! Cheers, Jerome
  11. What a load of rubbish Monty! Milviz is one of the most professional developers out there and their support is second to none. Cheers, Jerome
  12. Thanks William. I'm really amazed at how great this airport looks and it shows that HD textures aren't at all vital in crafting great scenery. Cheers, Jerome
  13. The weather has been kind of crazy here in Germany this past week. An afternoon arrival today, on final approach to RWY 25C. I can highly recommend the new EDDF from Aerosoft, great frame rates and a very high level of realism when compared with my travels to and from the real world airport. Cheers, Jerome
  14. Hi there, The 7Z file is a compressed file format just like a ZIP file is in a compressed format too. To uncompress the file install 7Zip - http://www.7-zip.org or http://www.peazip.org - on your system. Good luck. Cheers, Jerome
  15. Hahahaha.....excellent Mark! Cheers, Jerome
  16. Rich, the NVIDIA CEO announced that the GTX 1070 will be available on 10 June 2016, the GTX 1080 on 27 May 2016, you won't have to wait until 2017. The fact that he made the announcement at the DreamHack gamer gathering in Austin, Texas, would support the fact that these are definitely gaming cards. Cheers, Jerome
  17. Hi Steve, Why the condescending remark? And even if I didn't have as much technical knowledge as you're presuming, the fact that a setting of AffinityMask=21760 invokes terrible stutters speaks for itself. Cheers, Jerome
  18. Hi Steve, Theoretically that sounds plausible, but in practice it just doesn't work. And if the only programs running are the OS, P3Dv3 and FS Global Real Weather, why leave half of the available cores just to run weather and the OS, giving P3Dv3 only 50% of the i7-5960X CPU's performance? To me that just doesn't make sense. Cheers, Jerome
  19. Hi Steve, I'm not sure I follow what you're saying here. It was you that recommended a setting of AffinityMask=21760 in the cfg (which equates to 01,01,01,01,00,00,00,00) for someone else that had a question concerning their i7-5960X and what AM they should be using. I decided to try your recommendation and it produced a stutterfest, so I went back to using EasyToolz and a setting of 21844, as 21760 there also produces severe stutters. I'm intrigued if anyone running an i7-5960X actually gets decent results with using any form of AM setting in the jobscheduler of their cfg. My experience has been to always set AM outside of the cfg. With reference to HT and running hot, my system is water-cooled, so heat is not an issue. Cheers, Jerome
  20. Hi Steve, Firstly thank you for all your contributions here. I read your recent comments regarding setting the AM for an i7-5960X in the prepar3d.cfg file: [JOBSCHEDULER] AffinityMask=21760 I'm surprised at this recommendation, as this very setting turns my P3Dv3 into a stutterfest. In fact I have found that using any form of AM setting in the cfg seems to be detrimental to performance. I use EasyToolz to set AM externally and have turned off all HT cores along with the very first core too. This seems to deliver the best performance on my system - i7-5960X CPU and GTX 980 GPU. Using a 21760 type setting in EasyToolz also caused terrible stutters. Cheers, Jerome
  21. Hi Gregg, If you now use the latest GTN V5 PC Trainer, you get worldwide terrain data, as well as WAAS approaches outside of the USA, it's mentioned on the Flight1 product page too: http://goo.gl/ZrO3ws Garmin have just released an updated version of the V5 Trainer, that apparently has even newer data: http://goo.gl/YNycl3 Flight1 are usually quick to update their GTN to be compatible with Garmin's latest trainer version. Cheers, Jerome
  22. Hi Mark, Definitely the Flight1 GTN, it's much more advanced, has many more features like integrated maps, TAWS (Terrain Awareness and Warning System), fuel and v-calc, and when combined with the RealAir Duke Turbine, it gives you a pretty much unbeatable GA package. The RealityXP gauge is ages old, the data is very outdated, and it has no developer support. The Flight1 GTN has full support in their forums. Cheers, Jerome
  23. Hi Haze, Tack så mycket for the tip, I didn't know that existed, great recommendation. Cheers, Jerome
  24. Hi Jim, That's pretty impressive! May I ask what texture settings and weather you used and did you measure VAS? Cheers, Jerome
