Change in-sim setting with keyboard shortcut or app

Featured Replies

Anyone know if it is possible to change graphics settings in the sim without opening the Graphics dialog? Perhaps a keyboard shortcut, or a 3rd party app which can poke settings in live?

The reason I ask is that I want to disable cloud shadows during dawn/dusk as that setting change seems to eliminate the FPS drop during those times of day.

It would be nice to be able to do that without stopping the sim.

Even nicer would be an app which could make that change automatically at the correct times each day.

Maybe one of the existing tweaking apps can do this? Anyone tried this?

To the best of my knowledge this is not possible until now. But I agree, it would help a lot if P3D settings could be changed  "on the fly" ...  I have some hope that this might come with future updates. At least since 4.5 (or was it 4.4) shader cache can be deleted without stopping the simulation, but you get a black screen for some seconds. Since very recently (REX Environment Force)  shader mods and HDR mods can be applied in the background. The same is true for FiberTimeFraction. I see no reason why cloud shadows, the amount of autogen or scenery objects should not be adjustable during a flight (without actually stop flying). It all depends on LM.
