64gb vs 32gb RAM
In demanding scenery with high end aircraft, MSI AB indicates 28-30 GB RAM usage. So my verdict is clear: 64 is a must.

Win 11 and "Auto HDR"
I have a very good HDR monitor. Made some small color and brightness adjustments in Windows and have it permanently since then. No issues.

October 2025 - The Last Asobo Dev Update?
Honestly, I was mostly disappointed watching these q/a discussions. Many issues that have been discussed here over and over have never been asked there.

I have tested. See above.

Downloading over 500GB of data
I had it during SU3 was valid. I did not recognize any advantages in performance or quality. With SU4 I went back to pure streaming by a full uninstall reinstall procedure.

Chaseplane By //42: Update 2026.7.3.16 Out
Nope. I recently had a ticket with them where they said it would be necessary to uninstall CP to get your personal MSFS 2024 camera setting back.

Oh Microsoft you can be so stupid at times ...
Sorry, missunderstood ... . But the principle should be the same. I use PIN only. But for my MS account I have a password, which I did not change. No password manager.

Oh Microsoft you can be so stupid at times ...
I've changed my email address very recently too and I had no problems with XBox/MSFS logins. IIRC, only changing my MS/Windows account was necessary.

Help for MSFS 2024 a/c specific key bindings?
I’m still trying to fully understand the MS/Asobo control assignment logic (after five years…). In MSFS 2024, each aircraft comes with predefined cockpit instrument views, typically bound as: Toggle Instrument View 1 → Ctrl+1 Toggle Instrument View 2 → Ctrl+2 Toggle Instrument View 3 → Ctrl+3 etc. What I would like to achieve is an aircraft-specific keyboard binding. Example: In Aircraft X: Pressing “M” triggers Toggle Instrument View 2 In Aircraft Y: Pressing “M” triggers Toggle Instrument View 4 In other words, same physical key, different function depending on the loaded aircraft. I’ve tried creating separate control profiles and experimenting with aircraft-specific bindings, but so far I haven’t been able to get this working reliably. Is this possible within the current MSFS 2024 control logic? If so, what is the recommended approach? Any insights from those who’ve managed more granular per-aircraft bindings would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Flight planning is not fun right now
I have related problems with FSHUD sometimes, giving me opposite runway than I got from navigraph. I assume low winds or crosswinds can cause these problems.

Simmers in other forums, who experienced the outage and are back online now, report that settings and controls are screwed. What a mess! Thanks you MS!

"Server issue detected"
It seems the Azure cloud is back over Vienna, Austria. 10 hrs outage - Imagine this happens not to a game and its sim enthusiasts. I also noticed that MSFS2024 asks me now to start the setup. It behaves like I had never installed MSFS2024 on my computer. I fear I lost all my settings. I quit the sim before entering the setup because I don't want mess it up further, hoping that my settings get restored from that Azure thing very soon.

"Partial Recovery of ongoing Service Degradation in West US region Impact: Starting at 08:00 UTC on 07 February 2026, a subset of customers using Azure services in the West US region may experience intermittent service unavailability or delays in monitoring and log data for some resources hosted in the affected datacenter areas. Impacted customers may observe degraded performance or delayed telemetry as services continue to recover. Current Status: Earlier today, an unexpected interruption to utility power at one of our West US datacenters resulted in a loss of power to parts of the facility. Backup power systems were automatically activated, and power has since been stabilized across the affected areas. Following the power event, some infrastructure components experienced temporary unavailability. Network connectivity and management access were restored first to enable recovery operations, after which teams began recovering storage systems and the dependent compute resources. While most infrastructure is now reachable, storage recovery remains in progress, and some compute workloads continue to operate in a degraded state as these dependencies complete recovery. Customers may see gradual improvement as services are restored and system health validations continue. A small number of services remain impacted while recovery actions progress, and our engineering and datacenter teams remain actively engaged to monitor stability and ensure a safe return to normal operations. This message was last updated at 15:39 UTC on 07 February 2026"

I do not sim every day at every time and I can only estimate how often this and related server issues, like login problems occurred. Two times a month at least. It would be interesting to get a official statistic about this, but I doubt this will ever happen.
