I love the 717.  Hand flies like a dream and just an all around good airplane.  My biggest complaint is the lack of a range to altitude arc.  Or sometimes also called the banana mark.

Thank you Sir, I guess I have to live without the ARC, but it does have LNAV and VNAV? also Autolanding cabablity?

OK, When I was researching for a reviews and opinions on the TFDI B717-200 this post was the first result on the search, I got a good opinions from fellow simmers here so I did the purchased about a week ago, and I would like to state here few points about the product, I am writing this after reading the manuals and accomplishing three full flights, this might help future buyers:

1- Today I have no regrets in whatsoever about the purchase.

2- After installation I had a problem with the tablet, it wasn't displaying information properly and as I was preparing a tough email to put on TFDI forum I thought to make a final research and I found out that, "Sparse Grid Supersampling" related to NVIDIA Inspector was the cause of the issue and it's on their knowledge base page, and who would thought of that? Then at their forum there was a similar issue or complain at a post and the complainer wasn't  directed to their knowledge base page which was strange, however, I thought maybe the problem was different.

3- While I was trying my first ILS approach the plane did not react normally and did not capture the G/S, I thought it's an error I was wrong.

4- There's no direct connection between Navigraph Charts and the tablet as expected, but the MDCU will be updated through Navigraph app if you have it, also PFPX does not export flight plans to their company route directory, you can use Simbrief for OPF.

5- Few functions with the MCDU and other areas not simulated not vital but it could be nicer to see, also there is no descend or banana arc present at the ND.

6- You can't compare Leonardo Maddog MD-82 or FSL A320/21/19 or PMDG NGXu B737-800/900/600/700 directly to TFDI B717-200, not because it's falling behind dramatically but because it's basically different, model different plane and different methodology all together, but pretty much all playing at the same league.

7- As I get to know it better and to understand it more I think it's a keeper in my hanger and reminds me with PMDG's MD-11 for FSX.

8- There isn't a tutorial produced by TFDI but there's an interesting Youtube video https://youtu.be/l805U3BMtO0 and others of course that I did not get the chance to see.

9- The external model is an average one the internal VC model is above average - in my opinion- also some buttons are not working, lights is great but it's a whole new experience or at least different.

10- My advice to my fellow simmers when you buy it and something goes wrong, read the manual, go to their forums and ask and search the web before deciding you wasted your money, why am I saying this? Because in my opinion the TFDI B717-200 had countless negative reviews on the web because of two CTD issues (external views and flickering screens) that plagued the plane for years and today they're solved.

I hope this will be useful

Best regards

Is there a solution to the tablet not working? I've tried the two suggestions on the TFDI forum but no joy. Works fine in FSXSE

Try this

Issue

The tablet will not display properly, items are missing from the displays or other weird anomalies on rendered panels.

Resolution

Option 1)

Disable Hardware Rendering in the Addon Manager, can be found via the Customization button -> Performance -> Graphics Card Rendering.

Option 2)

This is usually caused by the NVIDIA Inspector Antialiasing - Transparency Supersampling setting. Set it to a setting without "Sparse Grid Supersampling" and the issue should be resolved.
