EGUM Manston - ? Not in Worldwide Database?

Featured Replies

So I'm flying at night in TEGBS Orbx, I have bought almost all the XP11 airports from Orbx, and I depart from EGHR and head along the coast and land randomly at EGUM?

Screenshot attached. I have my GTN set for Worldwide database.

There is no reference to what is on the ground a major airport.

Is there something wrong with my database?

Hi,

I don't know the specifics, but the wiki page says:

Manston Airport, formerly IATA: MSE, ICAO: EGMH, is a closed British airport.

Fast response thanks. OK weird, so its in XP11. Its referenced as EGUM and yet an aiport of same name is referenced as EGMH.

Still trying to sort this out.

I just got this from the XP Gateway Airports listing
    EGMH (Manston)

this version included in Global Scenery since X-plane v11.00

What it heck, so its not called EGUM as my app says, but EGHM and its in the XP11+ database. So I guess the AIRAC database has it removed as its closed?

I'm sure when the airport is closed it is not literally removed from earth, however, it might be removed from Garmin database because effectively you're not supposed to land there?

I just edited my post above, so XP11 though has this as an active airport....so I gues I'll just put my own waypoint into database...this is the very first time I have ever encountered this issue. Now I know to check the database for inactive airports.

And the latest GTN trainer 6.50 has a feature to make a user waypoint work as an airport, so that you can use this as a 'destination' if I'm not mistaken and even have the 'visual approach' aid function.

Wow, I'll look into this feature.

I see on GoogleEarth, its dead as a doornail, vacant but of course still on the ground as was.
