P3D v4.5 Miramar to Edwards AFB, B58 Hustler

The Convair B58 Hustler always had a special place in my "aviation" heart, as she was one of the first Revell models I built as a kid and I’m glad that she flies in P3D v.4.5. This is the 2014 Glowingheat model. I have modified somewhat the VC, as it looked at least for me out of the box too FS9-ish

 

 

Once airborne she picks up speed amazingly fast.

 

So we will cover the distance in a heartbeat

 

 

 

 

 

 

Over Edwards AFB

 

Unfortunately she lacks speed brakes, so it takes an eternity to bring her down to a landing speed of around 220 knots

 

 

 

 

 

 

She is a real beauty and the good thing is, so far she has only tried to kill me twice

The B-58 is still a wonderful looking plane even now. Glowing heat certainly gave it some pretty afterburner effects. The VC looks great, whatever you did to it.

Don't know if the Hustler ever tried to kill Jimmy Stewart, but he survived it!

Thanks a lot, Mark. I didn't know that Brigadier General James M. Stewart, USAF (ret), actually flew in the B-58. I know that he was flying during the war B-17s and B-24's and that he was recorded talking about the Hustler and getting out of her from the pilot's seat, but did he really actually fly the Hustler? I read a lot about the B-58 and how difficult it was to manage her, if one was not flying her on a regular basis

I "think" so. He flew B47s with SAC so had some experience in fast, multi-engined jet bombers. Why would he say he'd flown it and joined the Mach 2 club if he hadn't? At least back then anyway?

Of course Abraham Lincoln has been attributed to saying many things on the internet...

The Hustler is a not often mentioned aircraft, quite interesting, the nose looks like that of the B1...  Great screenshots of a classic!
