May 25, 20197 yr My question is how to ground yourself before using the TM equipment? Is just touching the back of a desktop PC case enough? I wonder what somebody on a laptop would do (there are plenty of laptops good enough to run FSX). Reason I ask is that I am getting my new TM Warthog up and running in FSX. I searched around Avsim forums and found this (below). I hate to ruin hundreds $ worth of hardware 😞  "There is however one potential problem lurking in all of them. They are *very* sensitive to static discharge. I bricked the stick in my first my set accidentally by touching it after walking across some carpet. The shock from my finger killed it instantly and it would no longer be recognized on any computer I plugged it into. I now ground myself on my computer case every time before working with the stick and I've had no problems since. That shiny metal ring at the base of the stick in particular is a real lightning rod, hehe. May 25, 20197 yr I had heard that too before buying but I’ve Never had an issue with mine over the past few years.  My computer room has carpet...maybe because I don’t usually touch it before sitting in my chair?  In any event touching a metal object should ground yourself if you’re concerned.  Dave Current System (Running at 4k): ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-F, Ryzen 7800X3D, RTX 5090, 55" Samsung Q80T, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, EVGA CLC 280mm AIO Cooler, Brunner CLS-E NG Yoke, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS & Stick, Thrustmaster TCA Quadrant & Add-on, VirtualFly Ruddo+, TQ6+ and Yoko+, GoFlight MCP-PRO and EFIS, Skalarki FCU and MCDU
