Tool to create FSLabs stands.ini´s

Recommended Posts

Hi Nico,

I have a question not related to PSX or another of your fantastic tools.

The FSlabs Airbus needs to feed the virtual pilots with arrival gate-information a stands.ini for every individual airline. Now my question: with your skills, is it possible to programme a small tool to extract this specific informations from Afcads or PSXSeecon-XML-Airport Files an consolidate it into an airline stands.ini (an example is attached).

Greetings
Andrew

Hi Andrew,

It would be possible to create such a tool based on the real time parking position info gathered bij PSXT in the airport.xml files.

Afcad files do not have sufficient and reliable airline data.

PSXT's airport files also have the info about with what type of aircraft of an airline parks at a gate. The tool can filter out the gates that fit the FSLabs airbus.

The only possible problem I see is whether airport add-on suppliers use the official coding for the gates or not, because it is their codes that are stored in the PSXT airport files.

Last question: what is in in for me ? 😉

Like you already mentioned, this tool has no use in the PSXseeconTraffic context...

Regards,

Nico

Really good point - let me handover your request to the FSLabs Team.

Isn’t this something the FsLabs team should make ... 🤔

Otherwise other brand aircraft flyers also want a tool specific for them...

Indeed, I have no intention to make one (unless they offer me 50.000 Euro 😉)

Any skilled programmer can make such a tool in a day. The major challenge is the input for the tool. At the moment I only have airport files for 7 European airports. One has to let run PSXT at several other airports too for a number of days in order to  get the gate info.
