July 18, 20196 yr After I updated MCE recently it happens occasionally that the FO does not read the reply specified in a voxscript any more. It does not happen all the time and it seems not to be dependend on which voxscript I call for. Sometimes he reads the reply, sometimes not. The rest of the voxscript is executed fine. Since that only occured after my latest update I suspect it might have to do with the new automatic notifications on flow start feature. I don't have (and did not add) the line AutoNotifyOnSilentFlowStart= in my MCE.ini though. Anyone else experiencing this?

Just so that you know, to prevent FO distracting you when executing a verbose flow and you happen to be transmitting to ATC, whenever PTT switch is down, Fo voice is muted. Unless it's something else, in which case other users are invited to chime in. Gerald R https://www.multicrewxp.com

July 19, 20196 yr Well, i noticed that since the last update it happens occasionally that i can´t hear the FO reply to atc, but the atc´s receipt. In this case i can only hear the low tone which is played to simulate the PTT is pushed but not the FO talking, or sometimes he just say something like "Tower...Eurowings...seven zero four eight……" and then quiet. But this happens very rarely and without any noticeable "system" behind i think. It sounds that there could be a connection between those different observations. reg. Bernd Make sure it's not the Windows 7 or higher "automatic volume attenuation" at work. Go to Windows Control panel, start <Sound> applet, go to <communications> tab and make sure option "Do Nothing" is selected. Option means, don't automatically reduce volume of background apps. It can affect many appsa like PF3, RC4, VoxATC... The low tone audio is played in "fsInsider64.dll" running inside the simulator. That isn't subject to auto-attenuation when the sim is the active window. MCE, including FO audio and speech engine, run outside FSX/Prepar3D process for better stability of the simulator. If the option was already ticked and this happens very rarely, it's probably not a good idea to mess with it. Keep the following in mind... In order to simulate a realistic co-pilot behavior, MCE is multi-threaded. This means you can get him to start a flow, and fire a direct command to flip another switch or dial something, perhaps even ask him to remind you something, right in the middle of the flow 😎. Fo keeps checking whether the command is part of a flow (and whether it should be silent), while making sure he's verbose when handling a direct speech command. And these can come in any order. Add to that, when holding PTT, down (which you should be able to do even if FO is engaged with the flow)), we deliberately mute his voice in order not to distract you while transmitting. Although rare, it's not impossible that FO may wrongly put himself briefly in mute state because a particular speech was deemed to be silent. Feedback always welcome. I don't want this to come across as "let's not report other little annoyances". A famous Dutch software engineer was asked "How do you make the software perfect". His reply was "Perfection is when there is nothing left to remove"😄 Gerald R https://www.multicrewxp.com
