I've had hit and miss on installing some of the sceneries today.  For instance the Eisenhower and the - USS Patuxent I installed the same way as my other scenery, but they do not show up.  Found some Florida Cape Canaveral scenery that does not show up as well.  So I might be doing something wrong, might not be setting up a hierarchy the right way, because the Vegas lights showed up fine, I think, as did the autogen.

Usually you should follow the installation instructions carefully. However, there is a very simple/logical Ipacs install hierarchy which should go something like scenery\places\usa\ca (Or whatever the country code, with Switzerland being ch, for instance) and then the individual folders.

(This almost always works, even when the scenery author suggests otherwise, and will indeed work for the Eisenhower)

Unfortunately some contributors, most notably from other countries, occasionally contrive their own folder structures for their creations, sometimes requiring diligence in following their installation instructions to the letter for the scenery to work.

I've become a bit mulish on this issue of late, and have been insisting on logical order in my folders so I can keep track of exactly whats where later, and not have a wild mess.

If you were to follow the creators instructions, the Eisenhower, rather than going into scenery/places/usa/ca as one might logically expect, would instead end up simply in scenery/places/ and looking at it later, you would have no idea from its location exactly what the heck it was.

Why was it done that way? Who knows.

Such is freeware, and I would rather have it than not.

Kudos to those who spend of their time and effort to create it, however imperfect! 😀
