August 20, 20196 yr Is there anyone that OFFICALLY knows how real world Lear pilots work the cabin altitude management system? I’ve heard that you just set it to your landing airport altitude and forget about it, I’ve heard you set it to your cruise altitude and increase/decrease in increments as you go, etc. so what is the right way to do it? Had a cabin pressure light go off a couple of flights ago so just want to make sure im doing it the right way. Edited August 20, 20196 yr by Deltaair1212
August 21, 20196 yr You do both. Simple explanation is: -Set your cruise altitude before takeoff using the inner scale. The purpose of this scale is to help you find the cabin altitude appropriate for your cruise FL. -When you descend, set the cabin altitude (outer scale) to field elevation. August 22, 20196 yr Commercial Member C525B's explanation is exactly how we manage it in the real airplane. Make sure the CABIN AIR switch is turned on, otherwise, no pressurization. So I did this and still got the warning light go off. I did have the cabin air switch on too! The only way I don’t get the light is if I only set the destination altitude on the dial before I depart. That’s the only way it works for me.
