How to freeze XP11 in 51 seconds (resolved)

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have discovered a weird but easily producible crash.  In XP11 with either Reality-XP GTN 750 or 650, pull the mixture to idle cutoff in flight and ~51 seconds later XP11 will freeze and be unrecoverable.  I discover this with the Carenado PA46 Mirage but see exactly the same behavior with the stock C172.  Interestingly, pulling the mixture to idle cutoff on the ground does not produce the crash.  I have also tested with power settings on auto, always on, and bus 1 with the same result.  I have also tried it with avionics master and battery master on and off, no difference.  Even more interesting is that neither XP11 or RXP logs appear to be written with any crash detail.

Let me know what other data I might provide, thank you.

Hi,

this seems to recoup another crash report which I think might be related to the Shading Fuel Computer.

Can you please cross-check whether this happens when you disable the Shadin Fuel Computer?

Also, can you please download the following and report back the GTN Simulator.exe crash report data, and since you might have multiple reports, tell me if they all crash with the same error code at the same offset in the same module (you'll see this info in the reports in the tool)?

That fixed it!  I am happy to provide the GTN Simulator.exe crash report data (with Shadin settings turned back on) if you like, just let me know.  As a side note, I'm happy to beta the G500/600 if you need...  I have the TXi in my real plane and can't wait.  Thanks for the quick and useful response!

I'm glad this solves the issue in the interim, but I'd very much like the crash report data too!

I have attached the crash output and yes, both lines reported the same exact offset and exception codes.  I don't seem to be able to add a text attachment so I'll just paste the output below.  Thanks again!

thank you I'll review this and let you know.

In the meantime, can you please review this discussion below?

It shows the same point of failure as yours.

If this applies to your installation, I'd like you llet me know if the plugins/addons which are mentioned there do apply to your system, and whether disabling them makes a difference?

Hi Jean-Luc,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.  I reviewed that thread and have not seen any of the behavior being described there.  I can change settings any time without resulting in a crash.

Hi,

The aforementioned thread mentions some plugins / scripts other customers where using and when removing them it solved their issue. My question was about whether you were using the same plugins / scripts or not.

As a followup, we might have discovered a potential error leading most likely to the error you've reported. A fix is being tested right now and this will be included in the next update.

Excellent support!  Thank you.

@RXP What is the Shading Fuel Computer and how does one disable it?

I've seen the Garmin Trainer crash before, a few days ago it crashed after I shut the motor down on motor glider, and minutes ago when I was setting up a (first) flight with aircraft (or in this case helicopter) cold and dark.

@lupedelupe Hi, please just open and search the RXP GTN User's Manual. "fuel" should be a good keyword isn't it?
