Simbrief Question

Featured Replies

Everyone seems to recommend Simbrief, so I thiught I'd give it a try. I put in the following information:

Flight Plan: KCHA BNA J45 DENNI JHAUN KSUS at FL260  Alternate: KJEF
Aircraft: C510 Mustang

The generated briefing showed a 2hour and 5min flight requiring 2600 pounds of fuel. Both numbers make no sense. I flew the opposite direction  yesterday and had the following results:

Flight time: 1:24
Block to block time: 1:36
Fuel spent: 954 pounds

I could be doing something wrong.  I'm hoping someone will enter the info Simbrief and see if theyu get the same results.

Thanks Pete.  The fuel is still way out.  I'm not too handy with the metric system but your 1030kgs is over 2200 pounds.  I just finished the flight and I used 1007 pounds of fuel. I only tried Simbrief to get an estimate of fuel needed.  So far, it fails in that regard.

that is  block  fuel   not  trip  fuel,  sim brief   gave  me   1064lbs  fuel  for  trip is  required so its  not  too far  off  since  you  used 1007 pounds

Pete,

I was just typing a reply when I got your message.  Yes, I see that their fuel includes fuel to get to the alternate, a 45 minute reserve and something else that I forgot.

Thanks for your help.

Did you config your Airframe correctly in Simbrief? Are the 2600 pounds the block fuel or including Alternate fuel, reserve fuel etc.

OK I see it has been answered, I forgot to refresh the website! 😉
