August 30, 20196 yr Ok. Messing with my Rift S this morning. The faceplate comes off easily. I only just realised the button on the unit that does nothing actually allows in and out adjustment! Doh. So under the faceplate is a locking slider. Slide it to unlock, push the button and the unit slides off the halo unit. Unplug the speakers and voila. So hum, hang on a second. For those fast jet jockeys, wouldn’t this make the Rift S so much easier to mount to a lightweight helmet with nice integrated speakers? I’ve done the normal Google search and there doesn’t seem to be a suitable accessory out there. Shame. A lightweight plastic lid, decent speakers built in and a front up and down sliding visor mount to fit the Oculus to... hmmm. Shame I can’t spend the time to mock one up. Mark Harris. Aged 54. August 30, 20196 yr My idea has been that the head docking ring should be completely replaced by something with headphones. It seems like that would be a fairly simple engineering problem for any company that was interested in doing that...... We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically.
