Disk space

Featured Replies

Noticed I am starting to run out of disc space on my C drive with all the associated files for P3D v4.5.   Is it possible to move folders such as addon manager, and others that use a lot of space to an external HD without having to reinstall again?

Thanks in advance.

Moving most folders around will cause problems.

Reinstallation is not such a bad thing when its necessary, it just takes time, and most of the time its very much worth it.

I too am slowly running out of HD space - 3 TB about 78% full.  I will just get a new PC before long; intending on 8 TB or possibly more this time by.

Hi,

sure you can. Easiest way that doesn't compromise existing registry entries would be to move the folder elsewhere, and create a symbolic link instead, that points at the new location. Google "mklink".

But you have to make sure that the "external HDD" is fast enough, otherwise you will get hold-ups, stutters and blurries in the sim (depending on what you move on that drive).

Best regards
