September 5, 200619 yr I have been using UT but am wondering if there is a better traffic package out. I haven't really looked into development in this area in a long time. I'm most interested in realistic routes with realistic departures/arrivals.Thanks! September 5, 200619 yr NoBoth My Traffic 2006 and Traffic 2005 have "representative" scheduling. Of course that does spread the airport load out a bit better and minimize some of the impact of trying to put much more traffic into FS than it was designed to handle.I just couldn't get used to SWA at KDFW and USA at KDAL. But that's a local phobia on my part.I've found the semi-annual UT updates to be quite good. But to really enhance your AI, with UT or any of the others, try the freeware packages from World of AI and Project AI.http://www.world-of-ai.com/http://www.projectai.com/If the two sites have the same airline - I usually take the newest package for the more current schedules.Be sure to install the PAI packages using the Custom Install option and set each airline to be a separate traffic file using the airline name in the file name.Once you have them installed - open Ultimate Traffic - go to the compile page and uncheck the airlines which you've installed from the other sources. Then compile a new UT traffic file - ignore the warning about multiple traffic files.

September 5, 200619 yr Nothing beats UT if done right. Out of the box UT stinks with all the default PAI models and limited repaints. But if you assign repaints and replace all the models with FSP, Aardvark, EvloveAi, CDAI, etc you can get something like this:http://ultimatetraffic.flight1.net/forums/...opics.asp?FID=4& every 6 months you can buy updated schedules. Much better than having to download/install updated freeware schedules for every airline every few months.http://www.cpavirtual.org/images/banners/MyNewCrapBanner.jpgEric Thornton - CX001 - http://www.virtualairline.org Eric Thornton
September 5, 200619 yr Author Commercial Member Eric,Is there a step - by - step process that one can follow to get UT refined in the manner that you have just described?I am interested in doing just that, which I know is time consuming, but a step by step process would help. Thanks for any info availableKroswynd KROSWYND a.k.a KILO_WHISKEYMajestic Software Development/Support Sys 1: AMD 7950X3D, NOCTUA D15S, Gigabyte Elite B650, MSI 4090, 64Gb Ram, Corsair 850 Power Supply, 2x2TB M.2 Samsung 980s, 1x4TB WDD M.2, 6xNoctua 120mm case fans, LG C2 55" OLED running at 120Hz for the monitor, Win11. September 5, 200619 yr Yes there are. John Goodwin has written several tutorials about how to use UT tools. The best place to start is by visiting the UT forum, search for tutorials and go from there. Here's John Goodwins website with tutorials:http://www.john-goodwin.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/UT comes with a great tool called the Aircraft Assignment tool. If you know how to install AI texture files and edit the aircraft.cfg you're good to go. You can even assign special liveries, how many times you want it to show up (1x,2x,etc).Under utilities there's also a button called Repaint List. You click it and it creates a text file with all the UT traffic. It shows you every single livery, if they have a livery installed or not. It's a great way to work your way through all the missing repaints. Here you can see mine:http://www.superjuancho.com/Files/RepaintList.txtIf it has a Y then a repaint has been assigned, N means no repaint assigned to that livery. So it will not show up in FS or will show up with a generic texture.Even though UT comes with 1000s of airlines there are a few smaller airlines that are missing. UT comes with an import airline utility that works wonders. I can download flightplans from Avsim and import the airline into UT. I've done this for a lot of cargo airlines and it works great.http://ultimatetraffic.flight1.net/forums/...p?TID=2571&PN=1http://www.cpavirtual.org/images/banners/MyNewCrapBanner.jpgEric Thornton - CX001 - http://www.virtualairline.org Eric Thornton
September 5, 200619 yr I have both Ultimate Traffic and MyTraffic 2006. I was a huge fan of Ultimate Traffic, because of the realistic flightplans and schedules, but have switched to MyTraffic, because of the lack/delay of UT schedule updates and frame-rate issues. I have spent countless hours upgrading the AI models with PAI models and still didn't have the results that I was hoping for. MyTraffic pretty much worked out of the box with better and more frame-rate friendly models.I have come to prefer MyTraffic, mainly because of much improved frame rates compared to Ultimate Traffic. Even without the hyper-realistic timetables, MyTraffic has done a good job of representing the correct airlines at the airports that I have flown in and out with.Pat
