September 5, 200619 yr What airport is near this temple that is on the FSX website?? I wantto fly there but I dont know what this monument is...
September 5, 200619 yr Hi,The monument's not real, it only exists in one of the missions. Well worth flying the mission for though :)Cheers,Jim
September 5, 200619 yr That looks like a Mayan or Aztec pyramid, something that would be located in Mexico/Central America. The Amazon forest is in South America, there are no such temples/pyramids there, only in the "Raiders of the Lost Ark" movie ;)
September 5, 200619 yr Author If you are looking for a real-life place that looks like that, Tulum is one such place...right on the ocean south of cancun. In Fs there is a Tulum airport which is used mostly by MExican Coast Guard. Also Tikal and Chichen itza, both ruin sites that have the big pyramids and so forth. I don't know if these are in FS, or if anyone has added them. Once in FS98 I made Chichen Itza's pyramid using stepped default buildings, and it actually turned out looking fairly realistic. For the time, anyway.RhettAMD 3700+ powered by Gerbil wheel + gerbil, eVGA 7800GT 256, ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2 gigs Corsair TWINX, blah blah, etc. etc. Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB

September 5, 200619 yr Author >Hehe bet they did :)>It was amazing how simple it was, but how good it looked...I took about 6 of the default textured square gray+black window FS98 buildings, centered all 6 on the same coordinates, and then made each one progressively smaller and taller...and I got a nice step pyramid..aka..Chichen Itza. If it's not in FSX it might behoove me to design it...hmm..>They are great structures, I had a tour of the Mayan ruins>while holidaying in Cancun 2yrs ago, just awesome stuff :D>>If you went to Tulum, it is absolutely striking, (to me anyway) because it's right on the seacoast. Waves crashing at the base of the ruin complex...which is unique among Mayan ruins. In real life there is a reef about 500m off shore at Tulum, so if a person was to design a scenery for it, it would be neat to have the reef there too, as a hazard to floatplane operators...RhettAMD 3700+ powered by Gerbil wheel + gerbil, eVGA 7800GT 256, ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2 gigs Corsair TWINX, blah blah, etc. etc. Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
