RXP GNS won't install

Featured Replies

I have tried multiple times to reinstall Reality XP GNS 530, but I get a "MoveFile failed; code 5...access is denied.

When I first downloaded the software, it did not download the trainer, so in X-Plane 11, I got a GPS 530 image with a blank screen

I went back and downloaded the trainer manually (as per Flight1.com) and saved it in the Reality XP folder, thinking that would be the problem.

I have deleted folders and folders, and uninstalled the program, but I still get the same error and cannot install it.

There shouldn't be anything from flight1.

Did you get the product from the reality XP store?

Yes.  I went through the same process installing the GTN with no problem.

Click of the E-Commerce Installer and get rxpGNS2-530-XPL.exe that opens "E-Commerce provided by www.flight1.com" and on to the standard payment/install steps, just like the GTN

The only issue I had was that the Garmin 530 trainer didn't automatically download, but I have since manually placed that unzipped in the Reality XP folder with the rxpGNS2-XPL-Setup.exe file (as directed if the trainer failed to download), and during recent attempts at install, I'm told the Garmin trainer is there.

Still, I get the same "C:\ProgramData\RealityXP\rxpGnsSim32.dll   An error occurred while trying to rename a file in the destination directory:MoveFile failed; code 5, Access is denied"

The ProgramData\RealityXP folder contains both 64 and 32 bit GTN dll files and the 64 bit GNS dll file, but no 32 bit GNS dll file (if that's relevant)

By the way, thought it was BitDefender, but had no problem with GTN, and lowered shield/firewall and allowed all RXP exe programs in any case.

Thanks for reaching out

@RXP any thoughts?

Hi,

This most likely is the indicator of the anti-virus doing something behind your back. I'd cross check for any quarantined 'rxp' file

Otherwise what would most likely prevent a file from copying is a problem of user access rights to the folder it is copied to.

So I've whitelisted the GTN and GPS exe files in BitDefender.

However when I look at the quarantine folder of BitDefender, it shows the following:

"rxpGnsSim32.dll: Threat: Trojan.GenericKD.4..." on the two occasions I've tried to install.

Any ideal how that might that happen?

Again, the files were downloaded through the Reality XP site.
