Real time geodata

Featured Replies

If this wasn't mentioned here before, does msfs make use of public available real time geodata such as vulcano or wild fire monitoring data, tides?

I doubt that the rendering engine will alllow to show real times tides or volcano eruptions.

For the tides, my  guess is that the imagery will show low tides as they are more spectacular (think of the Mont St Michel Bay etc.) or useful (think of  Barra etc.).

For the volcanoes we may have some Disneyland stuff like FSX Hawaii.

They said they can incorporate a lot of real-time data to the sim. If it's available, they can implement it. But would that kind of data be prioritized on the development flow right now? I don't think so. They need to put together a lot of other features, way more important than that.
