October 24, 20196 yr Moderator Hi Richard, It's odd because MakeRunways is reading it so perhaps there's something unusual about the AFD file. I still use RC4 too and have never bought any others. A couple of demonstrations at a friends put me off for various reasons. Ray (Cheshire, England). November 4, 20196 yr Author Hi Ray, If it has any interest, I got some answers from Pete Dowson. First, something important that I didn't know about, "Runways.txt is merely a log, not a database file. Runways.xml has data which is available even if there is no valid runway". Secondly, after sending the relevant entries located in Runways.txt to Pete. He noted that one of the runways (LFLJ) had a length of 3 feet only! Runway 4 /22 centre: N45:23:44.6055 E006:37:57.1330 6586ft Start 4 : N45:23:45.9660 E006:37:58.9435 6586ft Hdg: 44.0T, Length 3ft Hdg: 44.000 true (MagVar 1.000), UNKNOWN 126 (Transparent), 3 x 1 ft It seems it was done on purpose this way by the developer (don't ask me why) The solution could be to override with a command line parameter to add to MakeRwys (>0). If I do, however, I don't know if there may be any visual or other consequences, even if I can always go back... Richard. November 4, 20196 yr Moderator Hi Richard, It beggars belief a developer who presumably would like to be referred to as professional could produce an addon airport with a runway 3ft long. How does he expect any aircraft to land there or in your case, allow an ATC program to direct you to the runway. I'd write to him and ask if this was intentional or a mistake. If the former ask for an explanation and a modified AFD file. If the latter ask for the AFD file. I wouldn't change anything for MakeRunways. Ray (Cheshire, England). The same is true for the other three altiports of this developer. Apart from the Atc issue, these altiports are very well designed and functional. I think they must have a good reason for designing them that way. Am I to understand that you wrote to them? November 4, 20196 yr Moderator Hi Richard, No, I haven't contacted them as I don't have the scenery. The AFD is critical to proper operations of the airport in respect to Ai. Position your aircraft near the holding point and report back if you see any Ai take off or land. I doubt you will. You won't know his reasons why he's included a 3ft runway without asking. LATER: is this the software you have? 25 Euros and an AFD like that. 😞 https://www.llhinfo.com/llh5_en.html Edited November 4, 20196 yr by Ray Proudfoot Ray (Cheshire, England). November 4, 20196 yr Author There will be no AIs anyway since the 4 Altiports have sloping runways. I can at least make flight plans with this altiport that are recognized by RC4. It works Thanks again Ray and Regards, Richard Richard Portier MAXIMUS VI FORMULA|Intel® Core i7-4770K [email protected] x8|NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080ti|M16GB DDR3|Windows10 Pro 64|P3Dv5|AFS2|TrackIr5|Saitek ProFlight Yoke + Quadrant + Rudder Pedal|Thrustmaster Warthog A10|
