September 10, 200619 yr I've noticed that ever since I upgraded to a LCD monitor, the sim looks horrible at night: as soon as the sun goes down, clouds look blurry and pixelated as do cockpits and plane. Almost as if someone had "painted" clouds, cockpits, and plane. Is this a generic problem with LCD monitors? Is there a setting I can adjust to make this effect less visible?thanks. ricardo
September 10, 200619 yr Author LCD screens have lower contrast ratios than CRTs (due to backlighting) so they aren't as good at reproducing images that are dark. If you haven't already you should make sure it is calibrated properly (gamma, brightness, contrast, colour). There are several ways to can do this from hardware to software. Usually your video card driver options allow you to tweak your settings, the following websites are handy also.http://www.drycreekphoto.com/Learn/monitor_calibration.htmhttp://www.drycreekphoto.com/Learn/Calibra...nitor_black.htmhttp://www.drycreekphoto.com/Learn/Calibra...or_gradient.htmhttp://www.normankoren.com/makingfineprints1A.html Bernard
