  1. For those interested in seeing how clouds work in Flight Sim:
  2. The oddity in the stated male OR female question lies in having the option of choosing both ...
  3. Mark, your statements regarding Flight are bordering on libel. If I were you I'd stop spreading unfounded drivel.
  4. LAPCAT A2? :( Reaction Engines
  5. I meant pausing track IR not the sim itself. :(
  6. Islam, the head movement ratio is adjustable, in practice you only need to move a few inches either way to cover a full 360 degrees of virtual movement.Noah, you can pause the tracking when you need to interact with panels etc, middle mouse button works best I find.
  7. I've been using Track IR since version 3 and the above praise is well placed. Once you get used to it, it is absolutely superb. I even convinced my brother to get one which he uses daily with iRacing. :(
  8. This is horrendous news. Very sad.
  9. There are a lot of baseless rumours surrounding Flight. Let's stick to what we have been told - Microsoft have removed 'simulator' from the name not the software.
  10. This is indeed fantastic news. :(
  11. Daniel, when you shine a torch onto an object you illuminate that object and not what is behind it (that is why shadows are comparatively dark :( ). Furthermore, the shadow cast by the object (aka radar blind spot) grows relative to the inverse distance of the object from the torch. The pilots could have conceivably flown through what appeared to be a small storm only to be confronted by a much larger one behind it. Now factor in super-cooled water freezing on contact with the pitot tubes, instrument discontinuity, autopilot disengagement, severe turbulence and pitch darkness...
  12. There is disrespecting the casualties and there is disrespecting those who are disrespecting the truth, spot the difference?
  13. Coming down from that high horse anytime soon "mgh"?The only ********s in this forum (and the world at large) are those that spurt persistent irrational nonsense in public and expect it to go unchallenged.
  14. Seriously, are you for real? :(:(
  15. Do you also believe that 911 was an inside job and that the moon landings were faked? :(
  16. Are we really at that point on the calendar again? It comes around so quickly these days don't you think? :Nail Biting:Regarding the OP:It astonishes me that anyone can be so unimpressed that they feel the need to make a new topic stating such in one of the biggest flight sim forums on the net - and over what exactly? Some pre-release screenshots (that also happen to be pretty good)? seriously?Until Flight is released and people get a chance to actually use it first hand there is only one deserved response to illogical threads such as this:YAWWWWWN! :(
  17. Thomas, humans can detect much more than 25 'fps' - it's not an old wives tale, it's a proven fact. The USAF carried out tests in which pilots were repeatedly able to see and identify an image of an aircraft that was displayed for only 1/220th of a second. It is highly likely that humans can perceive changes at a rate of many, many hundreds of hertz as is mentioned above. The optic nerve is only a few centimeters long and it transfers electrical pulses from the retina at speeds comparable to a 10/100 Mbit ethernet cable. Thus the brain is receiving and processing optical information on a continuous basis at a rate of tens of millions of bits per second. It is worth keeping in mind that the brain does not depend on receiving a complete 'image' in order to distinguish changes in optical information. The brain cannot receive a complete image from the eyes anyway due to the location of the optic nerve. The resulting blind spots have to be compensated for by the information provided by the other eye.
  18. Could it be a complete new 1mm mesh covering the entire planet with mm accurate textures!??! :( :(
  19. viz replied to scoob's topic in Hangar Chat
This was one email I was only too happy to receive from them. Good riddance.Hopefully the bidders have done their research especially before parting with any cash. To say simfly.eu is tainted would be somewhat of an understatement. Haha, I like it Mel!
  20. Nick wins!http://wikimapia.org/#lat=38.747992&lon=-90.3638363&z=14&l=0&m=s
  21. I would bet good money that it's not Heathrow. :(
  22. Yeah, I had a giggle upon receiving said email. Maybe the spam will stop once they go under? We can only hope.
  23. I remember that post and how annoyed I was when I read it. Mike, I also noticed that their reply did not contain any apology for sending you mail you didn't want or indeed ask for. Something tells me they don't care how we got on the list and insist that the onus is on us to 'unsubscribe'. I am considering contacting the ICO here in the UK as this one one form of spam that can at least be dealt with(http://www.ico.gov.uk/complaints/privacy_a...unications.aspx):
  24. I got another email yesterday from them and was wondering if any of you that got the First Class Simulations, sourcewise.net or other simfly related spam during the incident are also still getting it. :(
