Can't Disable F/O

Featured Replies

Since the last update, clicking on the microphone does not keep the F/O from listening and responding even though the microphone has a red X through it. Anyone else experience this?

I also noticed that sometimes lately. MCE reacts to speech even though the mute key had been pressed.

I had put it on the fact that I also started to use Self Loading Cargo lately which plays its own TTS voice sounds. So my assumption was that the activation of the TTS voice by SLC somehow conflicted with the Mute in MCE. I haven't had the chance to test this further so far so I cannot rule that it might also be an MCE issue and has nothin to do with SLC. I will try to check that soon.

Download this file, unzip and replace "mce.exe" in installation folder. And we'll take it from there.

Downloaded  and replaced old module. This solved the problem and the F/O can be muted.

Thanks for the quick response.

Greetings,

I have had this same issue. I downloaded the file above, but I've found that the co-pilot will start responding again after some time even though I have the mic muted.

Same here (using 2.8.0.8). The mute works ok initially, but after some time he responds again with the mute still on.

I guess this feature is meant to be used for a short interruption only but I'd like to have MCE muted for most of the time, only activating it when I have something to say. There are too many sources for MCE picking up noises otherwise. I have the sim sound on the speakers, sometimes I listen to live-atc on the speakers as well. A family member might enter my room and even start talking to me (!), and the MCE-FO responds :-).

Look here for a solution outside of MCE:
