Power settings...

Featured Replies

Does anyone have a good guide or rule of thumb as to power settings. For takeoff is it standard to advance the throttles until you hit a limitation (N1, N2, ITT) or is there a pre-planned takeoff power. At acceleration height, do you reduce the power for climb- or just keep on truckin?

You should be calculating all your speeds and power settings before takeoff. You have to base these speeds and power settings depending on your weight, the winds, the runway being used, and any other special considerations. I don't own the F50 yet (Probably will buy it soon) but I'd imagine this info is in the flight manual.

Nope, it isn’t, that is why he is asking.

I also look for the correct power and IAS / Mach settings for a climb.

It’s no big deal- right now I’m just using the N1/ITT limitations as a basic power setting guide. There is a utopia utility in the library that measures takeoff performance and it has been pretty instructive under some different scenarios (hot and high, etc)

Google Falcon 50 checklist. The first hit will also contain performance tables. 🙂
