x-atc-chatter question.

Featured Replies

I'm a new user of pilot2atc and I've just installed x-atc-chatter. I'm sitting at KPHX on Clearance Delivery hearing clearances for JFK.  I'm quite certain that I've got the native X-ATC-CHATTER set for integration and the sound files are installed in pilot2atc.

thanks

XATC Chatter is not airport specific.  It is a collection of live ATC recordings from various airports.  In most cases, airport specific verbiage is edited out.  Clearance delivery would likely be a case where such editing is impossible due to the nature of most of the calls being about departure and destination airports.

Dave, you are spot on about editing the clearance clips. They often make clear references to the airport. The volunteers and I try to make all the clips as generic as possible.

Hi guys, is it possible to augment the X-ATC-Chatter recordings with my own downloads from LiveATC for a specific airport?  Would I create the separate airport folder in the Controllers folder per the Pilot2ATC manual, and drop them in the appropriate App/Clr/Ctr/Dep/Dep_Gnd/etc folder underneath the airport code?

Cheers,

Specific airport chatter is only available in the Country folder mode.  This is very different from the Controller folder mode that ATC Chatter works in.

Of course, you could go through the effort to implement the Country folder setup and sprinkle the files from ATC_Chatter around in the country folders.
