November 25, 20196 yr Look, I'm flyng with P3Dv4, with dynamic lighting. If you are still using FSX or P3D lower versions without dynamic lighting then just ignore this - it isn't relevant to you. I have just been flying a series of approaches at night in bad weather, in both the Lear and the Falcon. Now the interior lighting in the Falcon is much easier to use and fly with in these conditions. The Lear isn't that bad, and I can fly it ok, but with that dark panel colour I need a torch at times! However, when the runway comes into sight there is absolutely no comparison - the dynamic landing and taxi lights on the Lear look very realistic and are fully effective in seeing surfaces and objects - but the Falcon lights are at best very poor (taxi light) or totally unusable and useless (landing lights). There is no comparison in the flying immersion at that point - the Lear is great - the Falcon is badly spoilt for me. I know we've mentioned this before, but I can't think that the importance of this difference has been appreciated. Dynamic landing and taxi lights are together an immersion game changer. For an aircraft as good as the FSW Falcon, flying with useless landing lights which have to be turned off to see anything, and taxi lights which barely show ground markings even right in front of you, is a crying shame. Particularly when the older Lear now shows what can be done... Now it might be that the way the Facon is coded prevents the lights from being updated to dynamic. If so, please say so and we 'll be disappointed but have to accept it. (The dynamic Recognition lights on the Lear don't work properly - being way, way too powerfull - they can't be reduced, I gather). But if the Falcon landing and taxi lights can be modified similar to the ones on the Lear, then please, please do this. I personally would pay for such an upgrade, I consider it so important. I still love flying both aircaft by the way - I'm a FSW fan - but P3D4 has changed the game with dynamic lighting and the resulting realism you can achieve. For me this aspect spoils the Falcon.

I created the dynamic lighting with the consultation of Joe. Considering that Joe, the tech adviser for Flysimware, flies the Lear 35 on a daily bases, I went off of his recommendation and guidelines for the recognition lights, which according to him, illuminate much further than the actual landing lights. He looked them over before it was released, and said that they are close to the real thing, so I will not change them. Regarding the Falcon, it's been planned to add Dynamic Lighting, but it has not been done yet. Link to my personal website where my work is shown.https://eliamonater.wixsite.com/wickeddesigns
November 26, 20196 yr Author Thanks for the input Mr Wicked. Although I trained as a military pilot way, way back, I know nothing of real-world Lears. The recognition lights at that intensity seemed unlikely to me, but I will certainly take Joe's word for it, so I'll put them on again (but not until at the runway holding point!). And thanks again for all your good work for us all. Excellent that the Falcon is due a lights upgrade. I just hope that my moaning brings it forward a bit...

It wouldn't take much to do the lighting, but Mark is tied up with the 414A, and i'm also completely tied up with my Scenery development for X-Plane. When we both get a moment to go over it, we will definitely get it done. And of course, I do enjoy bringing these birds to life!
