December 8, 20196 yr Dear all, since I got so precise and professional answers from your forum it seems that there are real Sim-Experts here. So possibly someone could kindly let me know the latest known status for the CTD issue when using the FSX menues. I am running the simulator on Win7 64bit and I am having the classic issue of CTD (or exceptional error) when I am opening the menus multiple time or click right mouse. I have tried many versions of uiautomationcore.dll first I had 6.0.6001.18000 - now I am using 6.0.5840.16386. It is of course in my FSX root - but I am still having those crashs. So thank you if someone can share the latest findings with this CTD - Menu issue. Best regards from Germany, Mathias
December 8, 20196 yr Since the dll.xml is used to load the menu's, I would suspect that as the cause. Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! December 14, 20196 yr Author Okay, this is an interesting hint. Before I only read that the only cause is the uiautomationcore.dll. So what can be done to check if the dll.xml is faulty? Regarding the menus I have some addons in it, GSX, FS Passengers and FSUIPC. Does anybody have experience if any change can fix the crashs by changing the dll.xml?
December 15, 20196 yr See the AVSIM CTD Guide, page 10, How to Fix Every FSX/P3D Crash. Page 13 tells you to move/disable the dll.xml. The best way to disable the dll.xml is to rename it to dll.off. When you restart FSX, no modules loaded by the dll.xml will load. If the sim starts up without crashing, then you can safely assume one of the modules loaded by the dll.xml is at fault. The AVSIM CTD Guide shows you how to enable/disable each module in the dll.xml as you investigate which module is at fault. I would suspect the module associated with the latest program you installed. Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! December 15, 20196 yr The uiautomationcore.dll placed in the main FSX directory does not guarantee FSX (boxed) will run. There are many members who own FSX (boxed) without any uiautomationcore.dll in the main folder of FSX. If you are having crashes with the uiautomationcore.dll placed in the main FSX (boxed) folder, then you should rename it by adding the extension .off as it could do more harm than good.
