Views reduction within P3D

Featured Replies

Hi and merry Christmas to all!

General question - most manual changes I do to almost every aircraft add on in P3D is modifying the camera views within the aircraft.cfg - usually removing unused views (to reduce the cycles required until getting to the more desired wing views).

However, every time there is an aircraft update or reinstallation required these changes go to the trash and require me again to update everything manually.

Is there a better way to manage these? Within P3D view menu?

I don't use camera add ons as I use TrackIR.

Thanks,

Shom

Hi Shom,

Unfortunately not.. Each aircraft.cfg is controlled by the vendor that created it. So P3D leave these settings alone so they can be controlled by users like you are doing or by developers.

I suggest you save a backup and just replace the cameras from your backup when such updates occur.

Thanks Simbol that's what I feared...

If you could drag and drop and replace the cfgs it would be easy but then you risk losing updates in other sections

You could backup (copy and paste) just your camera edits in a text file then copy and paste those edits to the Camera sections of the updated cfg file.
