POSKY 777-300ER will not show up in aircraft list FSX:SE

Featured Replies

Hello, I recently downloaded posky's 777-300ER from:https://www.fs-freeware.net/downloads/download/52-civil-aircraft/2445-boeing-777-300er-emirates-livery-a6-ecs and it is not showing up in fsx steam edition. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks Rick

Downloading now and will take a look!

Make sure you have in your aircraft selection screen all of what I have circled in red!

It shows up but as a Question mark in the Select Aircraft screen.  There is no thumbnail.jpg in the texture folder.  You will have to create that yourself!

As part of the download, I don't remember if the developer included any .jpg pictures of the aircraft.  If he didn't then once you are ready to fly, do a screenshot of the aircraft and label the picture thumbnail.jpg and insert it into the Emirates texture folder.

I would hope you are putting that 777-300er aircraft into the Airplanes folder inside of Simobjects!

Is this the path you are using? Depending on whether or not Steam is installed under program files.

  1. C
  2. Program Files (x86)
  3. Steam
  4. steamapps
  5. common
  6. FSX
  7. SimObjects
  8. Airplanes (or Rotorcraft)

And just to be sure....it's all by itself and not inside of another 777 aircraft folder?  I'm out of ideas!

Nope.

What is the NOPE??  Are you saying the new downloaded aircraft folder is inside of another aircraft folder, inside of the Airplanes folder????  That don't sound good!

It looks like this is just an add-on texture for the Posky 777-300ER and just a repaint.  Did you install the aircraft?

I'm trying to download the file now but it looks like it will take all night for the download to complete as I do not have a premium membership.

It's a full aircraft, Jim and it took me only 7 minutes to download and make some instruction screeshots.

The first shot is how the Emirates aircraft folder looks in the airplanes folder.  The second is what the thumbnail.jpg looks like in the Emirates texture folder.

Download completed.  Yeah!

This is not just a repaint but it contains everything needed to have a complete aircraft!  The OS777-300ER_Emirates folder goes under the Airplane folder in your FSX directory.  There is a modules folder and those two files go into the main FSX/Modules folder (just the files).  There is an Effects folder.  Move all of this files over to the FSX/Effects folder.  Make sure you unzip the file zipped file first and then just move the OS777-300ER-Emirates to the SimObjects/Airplane folder.  Here are the directions located in the Readme file:

INSTALL FSX:

1.    Unzip to a Tempfolder.
2.      Move the folder 'OS777-300ER_Emirates' to the 'FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes' directory.
