February 3, 20206 yr Your previous fsuipc5.log shows you are running P3D v4.4. I am now scratching my head to work out what could be wrong. Can I please see the log files? My only suggestion is to delete the entire /modules folder and reinstall fsuipc5 and LINDA. February 3, 20206 yr Did the reinstall and it comes up now. How can I reinstate my control assignments and A2A aircraft profiles?
February 3, 20206 yr Good news. From the module you sent me, copy the /LINDA/aircrafts and LINDA-CFG/aircrafts individual aircraft folders to the newly installed matching locations. February 3, 20206 yr Reinstalled from backup...didn't work. Found saved installation files and reinstalled. Edited February 3, 20206 yr by burns
February 3, 20206 yr In the modules folder you sent me only the FSX Default was defined and no assignments had been made. No other aircraft modules had been installed. To recover your old setups you will need to go to the backups you made before your Win10 rebuild. Otherwise you will need to reinstall the LINDA modules again and make the assignments afresh. February 3, 20206 yr When reinstalled from Acronis backup, I couldn't read the files. The person who installed the system didn't ask what account name I wanted and he modified it from the old Win7 name. So, things get screwed up. I love installing a new OS. So much like having teeth pulled..... Edited February 3, 20206 yr by burns
February 5, 20206 yr I can't seem to get Linda to talk to P3D. It sees it since it selects the proper aircraft. I assign functions to buttons but the instructions/actions never get passed to P3D. FSUIPC works fine. What should I do to try to fix this?
February 5, 20206 yr Turn on fault diagnosis mode and let me see the logs again. Andrew Gransden Scotland, UK LINDA Support/Developer - VATSIM and BAVirtual - Airbus Flyer i7 1TB SSD GTX980 - FSX/P3D - Aerosoft Airbus A318/A319/A320/A321 - FS2Crew
February 5, 20206 yr How do I do that? I see no setting for it in the setup screen nor in the PDF file.
February 5, 20206 yr Thank you for the the logs. With LINDA 3.1.0, selecting the Maintenance page gives a new option to Turn ON Fault Diagnosis mode. This give me more information to help users. However, the logs you did send me show that the config-hid.lua file is missing. Go to /modules/LINDA-CFG/aircrafts/FSX default. Delete any config-hid.lua, restart LINDA and P3D and assign functions to one of your joysticks. Ensure you save the assignments. When you press the button that button should be highlighted in the Joystick page and the Console should show a number of responses including the assigned function name Curiously the logs don’t show you have a traditional joystick connected. Do you have one? Under Joystick Setup page are your devices enabled? February 5, 20206 yr No typical joystick. Made my own to represent B206 jet ranger stick. Deleted the config-hid-saitek.lua file. Ran Linda with P3D. Complains that there is no config-hid file. Assignments not sent to P3D that I can tell.
February 5, 20206 yr The switch settings are not saved. When I restart Linda, they are blank. Is there something in Win10 that's the problem? Preventing writing, etc.? After deleting the config-hid file, no new file was created.
February 5, 20206 yr Figured out how to redo the ownership of files in Win10. Seems to work now that it can save my settings. Sorry about the confusion, but Win10 security is overdone! One thing though. Even though "Start GUI with Sim" is checked, Linda doesn't start with the sim. I have to start it manually. Edited February 5, 20206 yr by burns
February 5, 20206 yr good news. All .exe files not in the program files folder should be run as Adminstrator. Right click of file or shortcut and select properties/security and check Run as Admin checkbox. February 5, 20206 yr I don't run any programs from the Program Files folder. Linda started automatically until I got it to save files. So, after I posted this I retried P3D. Now Linda comes up automatically without my making any changes. Isn't Win10 wonderful! 😛 Edited February 5, 20206 yr by burns
