January 30, 20206 yr Dear friends, I created some checklists for the Baron 58 and stored them in the aircraft folder and they where ok. Now I wanted to change them and put the new file in the folder, but the GTN 750 keeps the old one. I reinstalled already the device, but it is the same thing. What can I do to solve that problem?
January 30, 20206 yr HI, You might need to exit the sim so that the add-on closes and Windows releases the old file handle?
January 31, 20206 yr Look at the folder contents and make sure the newer file was not saved with a .txt file extension. February 1, 20206 yr Can you list the files found in the aircraft folder which you're trying to add/change the checklist?

February 4, 20206 yr I'm sorry but we can't repro the issue on our end: 1) copy a checklist.gtn to the aircraft folder. 2) start the simulator 3) validate the checklist shows correct. 4) exit the simulator 5) rename the checklist.gtn to checklist(other).gtn 6) copy another checklist file to the aircraft folder as checklist.ace NB: using .ace in our tests just to validate there is no bug with the filename extension detection in our code. 7) start the simulator 8 ) validate the checklist shows correctly and is the new one. At this stage I'd make sure: 1) you're spelling the file name properly (no missing 'c' before the 'k') 2) you're copying the checklist.gtn (or checklist.ace) file into the correct aircraft folder (most likely the issue you're having)

Somewhere the device is holding the old one.
February 5, 20206 yr Ok, what you can do then is: 1) open the RealityXP.GTN.ini file in the aircraft folder with notepad 2) under [GTN_750_1] add the following line: LogTrainer = 4 NB: this assume you're trying this with the GTN 750 Unit 1 device. 3) start the simulator, skip the POST pages and exit. 4) review and report the content of the "My Documents\rxpGtnSim.dll.log" file

Is the folder above is the one you're copying the 2nd checklist over? If you exit the sim, delete the checklist.ace file from the beech_baron_58 folder, then restart the sim, is the GTN still displaying a checklist?
February 14, 20206 yr The log file shows the full path to the Baron 58 checklist file the GTN is loading: C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\SimObjects\Airplanes\beech_baron_58\checklist.ace Are you flying the Baron 58? If so and you exit the sim, delete the checklist.ace file from the beech_baron_58 folder (see full path above), then restart the sim, is the GTN still displaying a checklist?
