Install into FSW Lear/Falcon not working

Featured Replies

Hi-

Here's a post I made over at the FSW forum but have not had a usable solution yet so I thought I would try here
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've been running around in the Dash 8 for a couple of months, completely ignoring my favorite aircraft, the Lear.

Shame on me.

So, feeling guilty I went ahead and downloaded the latest version, along with the most recent version of reality XP. All that went fine as usual. Everything run as admin.

After the initial install, I loaded the Lear in a default setting, closed sim. Went into the management console and added the GTN (1) and closed. Loaded the Lear into the default scenario and I see the new bezel in the panel but no power. Also RXP is not available in the drop down Addon menu. So, it looks like it sorta installed as the bezel changed, but that's about it.

This is probably something simple, but, I'm open to some direction :>)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Since that post, I tried installing RXP into the Falcon and same issue. I'm thinking this is an install problem as RXP does not appear in eith AC Addon dropdown list.

Any ideas?

Hi,

This should be quite simple but I'll probably let other customers of this aircraft further comment.

There are 2 cases:

1) The 3rd party aircraft vendor provides a Reality XP option.

Just configure the aircraft using the 3rd party aircraft vendor recommended method.

2) The 3rd party aircraft vendor doesn't provide a specific Reality XP option, rather, it provides another 'GTN' option.

In this case the overall procedure is to use the 3rd party aircraft vendor method to configuring the GTN option, then once done, in-sim, use the Reality XP Panel Assistant to swap the GTN gauges easily. This takes a few seconds only.

Hi Jean-Luc,

FSW provides all the necessary adjustments through their management console. I've used it before with RXP with no problems whatsoever. For some reason, after the current install, RXP does not appear in the Addons drop down menu as was the case previously, but the RXP bezel is in place (no power) in the panel so it looks like a partial install? Anyway, I know this is not your problem due to the fact that a third party is involved and I'm using the F1 GTN which works fine so I'm OK. I'd just wanted to get your input as I prefer RXP over F1, particularly your support.

Thanks,

Mark

Ok so this is different an issue: if I understand correctly, the issue you're having is there is no RXP add-ons menu in P3D? If this is the case, please review the RXP GTN User's Manual Troubleshooting section about this (hint: add-on.xml)

Just in case, I will share my experience. When I first installed the RXP GTN750, I had a similar problem. Reading old messages on this forum, I found a solution- it turned out that RXP GTN is not compatible with the Comodo antivirus installed on my PC. After removing the antivirus, GTN750 worked perfectly and since then, after all the updates to GTN and Flysimware Lear35/Falcon50, everything works fine.

I'm not sure this is the problem at hand but it might be too, thank you for reminding it!

In fact, Comodo is so aggressive with the RXP GTN it makes me wonder what it is doing with other programs without the user noticing.

I'm not running any AV so that's one we can eliminate.

Recreated the add-on.xml, no change, that is, nothing in the addons drop down.

If the problem is not related to missing RXP files on your drive, then it must be the XML file and/or P3D4 acting strangely on you. Let's try finding out:

  • Can you please post the content of the add-on.xml file?
  • Can you also please tell which folder have you installed it to?
  • Can you list the files found in every path referenced in the xml file?

I can do this but it will take a lot of time. Would you like to Teanviewer in?
