FSX crashes automatically!

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

For the past week or so I have tried to do multiple flights on FSX and it just keeps on closing automatically without any error message. I constantly monitor my Memory usage and it doesn't run out of memory and I tried changing the scenery and graphics around but its still does it. Please, can someone help!

Have you tried with a stock aircraft, say, the baron?

Or put it another way. The key to problem solving is to halve your possibilities. So test another plane or perhaps with scenery, another place. That may point to something. Maybe you installed an update in there somewhere recently.

No error messages?  Where are you checking for those?

Just going to run a Chromebook and not upgrade to a Windows computer. Too many problems with the new Sims! 😱

SteveW hello, I have tried almost all models that I have and multiple airports and it still occurs. Charliearon hello, usually when FSX crashes it would give a reason why I assume, that is what it used to be for me.

Hi Kareem,

You seem to have, at least for now, eliminated the type of aircraft or the location from the enquiry, I would next eliminate the possibility of an attached software module causing the issue. For a test rename the dll.xml so that it is temporarily ignored. Also have a look at Jim's AVSIM CTD guide perhaps something mention in there might be relevant. Another thing is to recreate the fsx.cfg by renaming that and run the sim, but you will loose some settings.

Regards

Steve

Hello Steve,

Alright, I have renamed the files and about to test it now. However, I have nothing plugged into my pc at all. Do you mind providing me the link to the Jim's AVSIM CTD. Thank you

Alright, so according to the CTD Guide, I installed this App Crash View program and I have looked at my recent problems with FSX. They show the the fault was from a .dll file from the aircraft that I used. All my crashed show only .dll files. If you would like, I can provide you this problem via photo.

The text concerning the error can be copied and pasted here for us to look at rather than screenshot (CTRL+C and CTRL+V).

Did it crash without the dll.xml file operating?

Probably no need to see them all, let's look at one for now.
