October 13, 200619 yr I don't know if anybody else is experiencing this, but with FSX Deluxe, when in FULL SCREEN mode, if I call up the top menu with ALT, it does not go away after usage, but can only be removed if I go to WINDOW mode and then back to FULL SCREEN mode. This happened with the DEMO (second issue) and I thought this bug would have been removed from the GOLD RELEASE.IS anybody else experiencing this?FPS: With all sliders at DEFAULT, and all tweaks published, I get only 3.5-8.0 FPS at detailed airports and once in the air it goes pretty much to 10-20. Most disappointing. I'll be sure to wait for an MS Patch! The good? Much...this is the most believable sim to date. The water effects are fantastic and fascinating. I had a night scene with the moon casting across the water and you could see the bubbles and froth coming in waves. Amazing! Yeah...I have my complaint list, but it would go away, like most other's if the FPS were around 30-35 at detailed airports, etc.I'll wait until I can once more have hardware that can run FSX full-bore. Until then, I'll enjoy what I can. There is much in FSX to be most happy about, rather than the grim face. This is not a BLOW SUNSHINE post. ACE ...DID raise the bar. We just have to explore the new FSX world with less horsepower until it becomes affordable.Thank you TDRAGGER and the other members. Great entertainment for a hundred bucks invested.Just remember, you pay more for that in food EVERY week, and you only 'rent' it for a few hours, (smile) Then it's down the sewer...Waiting for a performance patch and hardware when I can come home with it.Cheers!Mitch R.
October 13, 200619 yr <>Press and hold the ALT key for 2 to 5 seconds (I forget the exact time value) and the menu will go away again. I think there is also a "show menu bar" menu item on the right click context menu (but I have a build running right now, so can't run FSX at the moment to check) that can also be used to turn the menu bar back off.Tim Tim http://fsandm.wordpress.com
October 13, 200619 yr Mitch, just so you know, you're not alone; I have the same problem in the Demo. I don't have the retail version yet so I can't comment on that. But I'll sure try the fix in the Demo and see if it works.Robert Robert Chartoff
October 14, 200619 yr I think I have the same basic - and annoying! - problem, both in Demo 2 and the retail. I don't recall the problem in Demo 1.I always run in full screen. However, after returning from any menu it *always* ends up in windowed mode. I have to press ALT-CTRL twice to get it back into full screen.Best regards, Chris
October 14, 200619 yr ^^^ if you want the menu bar to disappear , just hold down the alt key for a second and it will dissapear :)
