March 4, 20206 yr Chock's post with photos about the dented Icelandair 757 reminded me about a video I'd seen a while back about what appears to be quite a dent near the back of the no.3 engine on this Western Global MD-11 (core cowl or exhaust sleeve area). The dent doesn't appear to hinder her too much on takeoff. March 5, 20206 yr That is a big dent on that MD-11. Guess the fuel truck must have clanged into it lol. On the subject of dents, I spotted something I'd never noticed before today on the underside of the inboard flap of an A320 - the surface looked 'orange peeled' when it caught the light. It appeared to be caused by that section of flap being in line with the main gear, so the patterning was probably caused by debris and bits of loose rubber flicking up onto it off the wheel on landing and take off rolls.
